The Banpo Village Remains is one of the oldest historical sites. The village thrived 6000 years ago during the Neolithic Age. The City Wall in Xian is China's most well preserved structure and the biggest wall of ancient times. It was built around 100 BC by the Han dynasty.
The collection of stone tablets in the Xian Forest of Stone Steles Museum is the biggest such collection in China and classic texts are engraved on 114 of them. 72 ancient tombs and remains are situated in and around Xi'an. The mausoleum of Xuanyuan, a Tang emperor, also known as the Yellow Emperor, is among them. Xuanyuan is credited with having started the Chinese civilization.
